Description:
The Waveshare High-Accuracy Infrared Proximity Sensor is a reliable and easy-to-integrate solution for obstacle detection and avoidance in a variety of applications. This sensor module utilizes an infrared transmitter and receiver pair; when emitted IR waves encounter an obstacle and are reflected back, they are detected by the receiver.
The onboard LM393 voltage comparator intelligently processes this information, activating a green indicator LED to visually signal detection. Featuring a simple 4-wire interface (Vcc, GND, DOUT, AOUT) and broad 3.3V to 5V operating voltage compatibility, this sensor is readily adaptable to various microcontroller platforms.
Upon detecting an obstacle, the DOUT pin outputs a clear digital low-level signal, making it straightforward to implement obstacle avoidance logic. The integrated preset potentiometer allows for precise adjustment of the effective detection range, which spans from 2cm to 30cm, providing flexibility for different sensing requirements.
