Description:
The GY-273 module is built around the Honeywell QMC5883L IC, designed for low-field magnetic sensing with a digital interface, making it ideal for applications like low-cost compassing and magnetometry. The QMC5883L features high-resolution QMC118X-series magneto-resistive sensors, paired with an ASIC that handles amplification, automatic degaussing strap drivers, offset cancellation, and a 12-bit ADC, delivering compass heading accuracy within 1° to 2°. Its I2C serial bus provides a straightforward interface for easy integration.
The QMC5883L uses Honeywell’s Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR) technology, offering superior performance over other magnetic sensor technologies. These anisotropic, directional sensors provide high precision in-axis sensitivity and excellent linearity.
Designed with solid-state construction and very low cross-axis sensitivity, the QMC5883L accurately measures both the direction and magnitude of Earth’s magnetic field, from milli-gauss to 8 gausses. Honeywell’s magnetic sensors are among the most sensitive and reliable low-field sensors available, making this module a robust choice for a variety of magnetic field detection applications.
