Description :
The Basic Flex Sensor Circuit is a single-sided operational amplifier, used with these sensors because the low bias current of the op amp reduces error due to the source impedance of the flex sensor as the voltage divider.
Flex also called bend sensors, measure the amount of deflection caused by bending the sensor.
A typical bend sensor has the following basic specifications:
- uni- vs. bi-directional sensing
- uni- vs. bi-polar sensing
- The range of resistance (nominal to full-deflection)
