Description:
The reliable PT100 sensor excels in a wide range of temperature measurements below 400°C, it encounters its limits in the intense heat generated by common household natural gas stoves, which can easily surpass 800°C. For truly high-temperature environments, such as the scorching interiors of pottery kilns or the blazing elements of high-power electric furnaces, where temperatures can soar beyond 1000°C, the robust K-type thermocouple reigns supreme.
This digital K-type high-temperature sensor elegantly combines a signal amplification and conversion module with a rugged stainless steel sheathed K-type thermocouple probe. When this probe ventures near an intense heat source, the fundamental thermoelectric effect comes into play, generating a subtle voltage directly proportional to the surrounding temperature. The intelligent module, powered by a dedicated MAX31855K chip, meticulously amplifies this minute voltage, transforming it into precise digital signals while seamlessly compensating for any inherent inaccuracies. These accurate temperature readings become readily accessible through the user-friendly Gravity I2C interface. Remarkably, this sensor boasts an exceptionally broad measurement range, spanning from the frigid depths of 270°C to the fiery heights of 1372°C. Within the practical range of -200°C to 700°C, it maintains an impressive accuracy of within ±2°C, while even in the extreme heat between 700°C and 1350°C, the error remains a respectable ±4°C. The included K-type thermocouple itself is capable of accurately measuring temperatures up to 800°C, with an error margin of only ±2.5°C.
