The chip's integrated crystal oscillator and temperature compensation circuitry ensure minimal drift, achieving an impressive accuracy of ±3.8 parts per million (ppm), translating to approximately ±0.32832 seconds per day at a standard temperature of 25 °C. This exceptional accuracy makes it ideal for time-sensitive applications where reliability is paramount.
To maintain timekeeping even during main power outages, the module supports battery backup via a button-cell battery. This feature guarantees continuous operation, preventing data loss and ensuring consistent time tracking. The RTC diligently records time in seconds, minutes, hours, days of the week, dates of the month, months, and years. Furthermore, it incorporates an automatic calendar function, seamlessly adjusting for varying month lengths and accurately accounting for leap years, simplifying data management.
