INTRODUCTION
In this tutorial, we are testing the speed of a DC motor using a 12-40v 10A Power DC Motor Speed Controller.
HARDWARE REQUIRED
- DC 12V – DC 40V DC Motor Speed Controller - 1
- 100 RPM DC Motor - 1
- 12V DC Adapter - 1
- Gear Wheel -1
- Hook Up Wire 1mt - 1
SPECIFICATIONS
DC Motor Speed Controller:
- Working Voltage: DC 12V – DC 40V
- Control Power: 0.01 – 400W
- Static Current: 0.02 A ( Standby )
- PWM Duty Cycle: 10% -100%
- PWM Frequency: 13 kHz
- Control the speed of a DC motor with this controller
- High efficiency, high torque, low heat generating
- With reverse polarity protection, high current protection
The 10A fuse with the reverse connection of the power supply and control voltage over-voltage protection function can adjust the speed by the external 0-5V signal
Note: This can not be used for the brushless motor.
The controller is NOT reverse-polarity protected and will be damaged if it connects the supply voltage with the wrong polarity. Double-check all connections before applying power and always turn off the power supply before making any wiring changes.
CIRCUIT CONNECTION
- First, connect the dc motor negative positive to the knob connection point.
- Fix a gear wheel on the motor and fix it with the screwdriver.
- Now connect the 12v.1amp adapter for the power supply of the controller and switch on the power and turn the knob you will see the speed variation on the wheel.
- You can check the voltage rating using a multimeter. Connect the positive wire of the multimeter to the red wire of the motor and similarly connect the black wire of the multimeter to the DC motor black wire.
Schematic:
WORKING AND OUTPUT
Rotate the potentiometer and you can control the speed of the motor.
