Description:
The ACPL-C870-000E functions as an optical isolation amplifier, providing a safe and reliable way to measure voltages without a direct electrical connection between the sensing circuit and the measurement circuitry. This isolation is crucial for protecting sensitive components and personnel from high voltages and common-mode noise.
The sensor's 2V input range and high 1Gohm input impedance make it well-suited for isolated voltage sensing in electronic power converters. Typically, a resistive voltage divider is used to scale the DC link voltage down to a level compatible with the sensor's input range. The ACPL-C870-000E then generates a differential output voltage on the isolated side of the optical barrier, which is directly proportional to the input voltage. This output signal accurately represents the scaled DC link voltage.
