The A4988 Stepper Motor Driver is a user-friendly, micro-stepping solution designed for effortless control. Operating efficiently within an 8V to 35V range, it delivers approximately 1A per phase without needing a heatsink, and can achieve up to 2A per coil with proper cooling. Its integrated converter simplifies operation by eliminating the need for complex programming like phase sequence tables.
The A4988 also features a smart current regulator with selectable decay modes (slow or mixed), which contributes to quieter motor operation, enhanced step accuracy, and reduced power consumption. For improved efficiency during PWM operation, it incorporates internal synchronous rectification control circuitry.
