The 7809 Voltage Regulator IC is a 3-terminal linear voltage regulator that provides a fixed 9V DC output from higher DC input voltages (typically 11V–35V). This IC can supply up to 1A of continuous current and is designed with built-in protection features for overload, short-circuit, and thermal shutdown — ensuring safe and reliable performance in a wide range of electronic, Arduino, and DIY applications.

Protection Diodes (Optional):

  • Input-Output Protection: 1N4007 (prevents reverse current)
  • Output-Ground Protection: 1N4007 (protects from reverse discharge)
